MOVE (MObility for Vesicles research in Europe)

The Extracellular Vesicle societies across Europe have got together to form MOVE (MObility for Vesicles research in Europe) and their first project is to give early stage scientists the opportunity to work in a lab in a different European country.

The purpose of the MOVE European Mobility Fellowship is to foster collaboration between the members of different European EV Societies and Networks. The Fellowship will enable Early Career Researchers (the applicants) to travel to another lab in Europe (the hosts) to develop both their technical skills and enlarge their own professional networks.

The Fellowship is intended for technicians, PhD students and early-stage postdoctoral researchers (≤ five years, excluding career breaks). There may be some exceptions, for example, suitable applications from master’s students. This will be at the discretion of the national society Panel.

As a prerequisite, applicants will need to be members of their national EV society or network and the head of the hosting lab will be a current member of their national EV society or network in that host nation (where this in no national EV society or network host labs, they will be encouraged and supported to develop this by the MOVE consortium members).

The Fellowship will cover travel and subsistence (but not bench fees) to work within a host lab at an academic institution in a different European country for between one and three months, up to a maximum value of €2000/£2000 depending on the society. Please ask for the specific regulations to representatives of your national society/ network.

Process:

  1. Contact your local National EV Society/Network to see if they are part of the scheme and you are eligible to apply
  2. Look up host labs registered with the project link here
  3. Contact the host lab directly to discuss your proposed project
  4. Apply for the placement through the specific forms and process of your countries society

This is a rolling application and different societies will have different times to apply and rules, so contact them directly from the list below

Please note, the intellectual properties, non-disclosure agreements and data ownership is held with the host labs and we recommend the home lab of the participant and the foreign host lab come to an agreement on these matters.

Good luck with your applications!

We are delighted to announce that the MOVE Consortium is organising our first MOVE Conference at the University of Malaga in Spain from 24th October – 27th October 2023. (click here!) The programme is being finalised but abstract submission and registration will be open soon. With generous commercial sponsorships we hope to keep registration costs to below £300 to enable more researchers from across Europe to attend.  We aim to have lots of space in the programme for ECR presentations and posters, with plenty of opportunities for networking and meeting other researchers.
